A Galactic short Gamma-Ray-Burst
as cause for the 14C peak in AD 774/5 ?
The cause for the strong and rapid increase in radiocarbon (14C) found in Japanese tree rings by Miyake et al. (2012), left, was not known before. We (Hambaryan & Neuhäuser MNRAS 21 Jan 2013) show that all observables are consistent with the short Gamma-Ray Burst at some 3000 to 13000 light years, right. | ||
