Follow-up Observations of Comet C/2022 E3

Figure 1 (left): Comet C/2022 E3, taken with the CTK-II in the R-band (10x60s) on 19 January 2023. The fanned dust tail of the comet and its straight ion tail are well visible in the CTK-II image.

Figure 1 (right): Comet C/2022 E3, captured on 13 February 2023 at the University Observatory Jena. The image shows the curved dust tail of the comet and its greenish coma.

Figure 2: FLECHAS spectrum of comet C/2022 E3, taken on 29 January 2023, with strong emission lines of NH2, C2, and [OI].

Figure 3: FLECHAS spectrum of comet C/2022 E3, taken on 19 January 2023. Due to the high radial-velocity of the comet at the time of observation (-47 km/s) its [OI] emission (black line) is detected next to the telluric oxygen line (blue).
