This is a picture of the experimental setup for isolating nanoparticles in an argon-matrix. In the front you can see the reaction-chamber where the particles were produced by laser-induced gas pyrolysis. The larger pot contains two chambers, the isolation and the extraction chamber. In the background you can see the coupling with the infrared spectrometer and the cryostate to freeze out the argon layer where the SiC will be embedded in.
